Bachelor of Elementary Education

This four year integrated course is the first Indian professional degree programme for elementary teacher’s education. The course has been introduced in the college from the academic year 2004-05 and is offered by only a few select colleges of Delhi University. Admission to this course is through a centralized admission test conducted by Central Institute of Education, University of Delhi.

The B.El. Ed. programme prepares a student-teacher for a wide range of professional & academic options such as teaching and research in elementary education in Government & Non-Government schools, pursuing post-graduation and subsequently qualifying to be teacher educators in State Institutes/University Departments/Colleges

Eligibility / Qualifications Required for Admission

(A) Candidates seeking admission to the Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) Programme must have passed the Class XII examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any other Board recognised as equivalent to the CBSE with at least 50% marks in each of the following four subjects:

(i) One from list A and three from list B


(ii) One from list A, two from list B and one from list C.

Note: Not more than two languages will be considered for the purpose of eligibility from List A and B together.

Common Entrance Examination (Conducted by Central Institute of Education, University of Delhi)Scheme of the Common Entrance Examination (CEE-B.El.Ed), 2017-2018 is as follows:

All admissions to the B.El.Ed. Programme will be done on the basis of the Scheme of the CEE. The Merit List will be prepared on the basis of performance of candidates in the Entrance Test. Separate merit lists will be prepared for the respective categories i.e. general category and reserved categories as per the norms of the University of Delhi. Please note that there will be Internal Sectional qualifying marks which is 50% in each part separately of Section-A and 40% for each part separately of Section-B.
