Post Graduate Diploma in dietetics and Public Health Nutrition

The one-year PG Diploma in DDPHN course trains Home Science graduates in the fields of Therapeutic and Public Health Nutrition. The programme is very comprehensive dealing in subjects such as therapeutic nutrition, public health nutrition and institutional food administration. Job opportunities for the students include openings in hospitals, nursing homes, weight management clinics, health,  and fitness centers. Keeping in mind the contemporary trends in health and needs of the industry, the course contents have been revised from the current academic year i.e. 2018-19. Admission is on the basis of merit at the undergraduate level. The course has a compulsory three month internship after the second semester which equips the students with hands-on experience in the Dietetics department of multispecialty hospitals.

Minimum Eligibility Requirement for Admission to
Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition

Candidates seeking admission to one year PG Diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition must have passed BSc (Pass/ Hons) Home Science or BSc (Hons), Food Technology BSc Microbiology, BSc (Hons) Biochemistry, BSc Nursing, MBBS examination of the University of Delhi or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto and fulfill the eligibility listed below:

BSc Home Science (Pass/Hons) / BSc (Hons) Food Technology/ BSc Microbiology/ BSc Biochemistry/ BSc Nursing / MBBS

55% or above marks in the overall aggregate and 50% or above marks each in any three of the following subject domains:

  1. Food Science
  2. Normal Nutrition
  3. Community Nutrition
  4. Clinical Nutrition
  5. Biochemistry
  6. Physiology
  7. Microbiology

Selection of the candidates for admission to the Course will be made in order of merit on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in B.Sc. (Pass/Hons) Home Science or BSc (Hons) Food Technology, BSc Microbiology, BSc Biochemistry, BSc Nursing, MBBS.

Category I: 70% and above marks in aggregate of B.Sc./ MBBS from University of Delhi.
Category II: 70% and above marks in aggregate of B.Sc./MBBS from other Universities recognized by Delhi University as equivalent.
Category III: 60-69.9% marks in aggregate of B.Sc./MBBS from University of Delhi
Category IV: 60-69.9% marks in aggregate of B.Sc./MBBS from other Universities recognized by University of Delhi as equivalent.
Category V: 55-59.9% marks in aggregate of B.Sc./MBBS from University of Delhi.
Category VI: 55-59.9% marks in aggregate of B.Sc./MBBS from other Universities recognized by University of Delhi as equivalent.
