The college was established by Dr. (Mrs.) S. Malhan with a two-year Diploma in Home Science followed by a one-year Course in Teacher’s Training.
1969
The college was formally affiliated to the University of Delhi. A three-year degree Course in B.Sc. Home Science (Pass) was started with 80 students on the rolls.
1972
One-year Post graduate Diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition was initiated.
1973
A three-year degree Course in B.Sc. (Home Science) Honours was started.
1986
The college celebrated its Silver Jubilee.
1987
A two-year M.Sc. (Home Science) in Textiles & Clothing was introduced. The Foundation stone of the new campus laid by the then President, Giani Zail Singh.
1992
A three-year degree course in B.Sc. (Microbiology) Honours was started.
1993
A two-year M.Sc. (Home Science) in Food & Nutrition was started.
1995
Nursery School, by the Deptt. of Child Development, was started within the college premises, now the old IHE Building. Inauguration of the new campus by Vice Chancellor, Prof. Deepak Nayyar.
2001
The College shifted to the present Campus at Hauz Khas Enclave.
2004
A four-year degree course in B. El. Ed. was introduced.
2007
A three-year degree course in B.Sc. (Hons) Biochemistry was started.
2010
Laying of Foundation Stone of the additional building block.A one-year Diploma in Health and Social Gerontology was introduced.
2011-12
The college is celebrated it’s Golden Jubilee year.
2013-14
A four years undergraduate programme in Food Technology was launched.
2014
Completion of the new building block of the college comprising several labs and lecture theaters.
2015
Inauguration of state-of-the-art Gymnasium facility; Start of Nursery School ‘AARAMBH’ by the Department of Human Development at the present campus.
