Research interests and areas of specialization: Childhood studies, Childhood in Hindi cinema, Cultural psychology, Teacher education

Experience:Nidhi has about fifteen years of teaching experience at the school and college level. Currently, she is pursuing her doctoral degree from CIE, on the constructions of childhood in Hindi cinema. She has also been affiliated with the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Wisconsin, Madison as a Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral scholar 2014-2015. Nidhi has been involved in various initiatives education, which include Joint review Missions in Teacher Education to Jharkhand, Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh; curriculum development and faculty orientation programmes for various states; various initiative of the government. She has been Principal Investigator for research projects funded by Sir Ratan Tata Trust and Indian Council for Social Science Research which included interventions with government school children and teachers.

Jyoti Dalal

Experience:Jyoti Dalal has been teaching in the Department of Elementary Education at IHE since its inception in 2004. She was an ICSSR doctoral fellow (2012-14) at Institute of Economic Growth. She has published articles in Economic and Political Weekly and Contemporary Education Dialogue. She contributed three chapters for the M.A. Sociology course of IGNOU. As a member of NCTE core committee, she developed model syllabi on Elementary Teacher Education Programs. She was also associated with Tata trust funded RRCEE project (Regional Resource Center for Elementary Education), Faculty of Education. She is also an investigator in a Delhi University innovative project, which examines the linkage between gender, clothing and identity. As a co convener, she organized CESI International Conference (2014) held in University of Delhi.

Suneeta Mishra

Research interests and areas of specialization: Relationship between Grammar and Human Cognition: A case of Grammatical gender in Hindi, Cross-linguistic and cross-cultural variation in metaphor and other tools of meaning-making

Experience:With a specialisation in Education and Linguistics, Suneeta has about fifteen years of teaching experience at both school and college level. She was been involved in the Mathematics textbook-writing teams for SCERT and NCERT and training of master-trainers for the same. She has also been a member of National Council of Teacher Education for the period 2008- till 2012. Currently, she is pursuing her doctoral degree from Jawahar Lal Nehru University, and the topic of her research is ‘Relationship between Grammar and Human Cognition: A case of Grammatical gender in Hindi’. She has also been the founder member of an organization called the ‘katha manch’ which aims to popularise story telling and children’s literature.

Mamta Singhal

Experience:Mamta Singhal has been teaching in the B.Ed. & B.El.Ed. programs for 15 years across different Universities. She has conducted research projects which help understand and resolve the curricular and pedagogical challenges in school education. She has been a part of curriculum review process for the B.El.Ed. program and has also contributed to the schools and community through meaningful engagements. She has presented several papers in National and International fora.

Experience:Ruchira Das has been teaching social science papers for the past 9 years. She has researched in the areas of marginality, sociology of education and migration studies. She has been associated with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai as programme officer in the M.A Elementary Education programme. She has been part of research projects related to school education. She is also a member, executive committee of the Comparative Education Society of India which is affiliated to World Council for Comparative Education Societies.

Sharmila Rathee

Experience:Sharmila Rathee has been teaching in department of elementary education since 6 years. She is currently pursuing her Doctoral research in educational studies with a focus on social psychological perspective. Her doctoral research (ongoing) involves ethnographic approach and focuses on identity experiences of students in schools. Her paper presentations in various national and international conferences focus on different educational issues. She is a lifetime member of the comparative education society of India affiliated to world council for comparative education.
