Dr. Arti Nigam

Experience:Dr. Arti Nigam has been teaching students of B.Sc. (Hons) Microbiology and other courses at the institute since 1993. She has supervised many M.Sc. Dissertations and co-supervised a Ph.d student. Dr. Nigam was the Principal Investigator in UGC Major Research project from 2008 to 2011. She has many research publications to her credit at national and international level. Dr. Nigam has reviewed an international publication , a book and chapters in books. She published a Lab Manual by Tata McGraw Ltd. in Biochemistry, Immunology and Biotechnology in 2007. She is presently coinvestigator for D.U innovation project (2015-2016).
Dr. Sunita Aggarwal
Designation: Associate Professor
Educational Qualifications: M.Sc; Ph.d. (Microbiology), University of Delhi
Experience:Dr. Sunita Aggarwal has been teaching at the University of Delhi since 1993. She has been teaching students of B.Sc. Honours (Microbiology), M.Sc (Food & Nutrition) and DDPHN. Her research interests revolve around immunology, food microbiology as well as applied microbiology that provide deep insight into the latest happenings and a platform for interaction with industry, faculty and students. She has worked on an ICMR funded project entitled, ‘Food microbiology of street foods’. She has guided several M.Sc. Dissertations and has published as well as presented several research papers. She has also written chapters in various books in addition to a Lab manual for M.Sc. (Food & Nutrition), IGNOU.

Experience:Ms. Nitika Nagpal has been teaching in the college since 1994. She has been teaching students of B.Sc. Honours (Microbiology), M.Sc. (Food & Nutrition) and DDPHN. She has guided several M.Sc. Dissertations. Prior to teaching she has worked as research fellow in the Department of Microbiology, University of Delhi. She has published many research papers in different national and international journals. She has successfully completed a joint research project funded by ICMR. Her bio- data appeared in ‘WHO’S IS WHO IN THE WORLD’ book in 18th edition 1998.
Dr. Ashima Vohra
Educational Qualifications:M.Sc., Ph.D. Microbiology (Delhi University)
Experience:Dr. Ashima Vohra has published seven research papers in peer reviewed journals and has ten chapters/reviews in books to her credit. She also has two Indian Patents. She received the prestigious Young Scientist Award of the Indian National Science Academy in 2005. She also received Young Scientist award in 1999 at the International Conference on ‘Frontiers in Fungal Biotechnology and Plant Pathogen Relations’ at Osmania University, Hyderabad in January 16-18, 1999 for best oral presentation. She was awarded the All India Post graduate Scholarship from 1995-1997. She is a life member of AMI (Association of Microbiologists of India).
Mrs. Sonia Chaudhary
Educational Qualifications:M.Sc (Biotechnology) Hissar
Experience:Mrs. Sonia Chaudhary has been teaching at the Institute since 2004. She has been teaching students of B.Sc. Honours Microbiology and M.Sc (Food & Nutrition). Her areas of interest are Recombinant DNA Technology, Molecular Biology, Virology and Food Microbiology. She has published a research paper in ‘Journal of Genetics’.
