The Department of Biochemistry organized a lecture series on Understanding lifestyle disorders: A biochemical perspective on 12th February' 2020. This lecture series was attended by M.Sc. Biochemistry Students from Amity University, Diploma in Human Nutrition students from VLCC Institute, M.Sc. (F&N) students from IHE, M.Sc. DFSM students from IGNOU and lifestyle experts. It included 7 lectures on lifestyle disorders including The Obesity pandemic and the cardiometabolic disease, Hypertension: a silent killer; Cardiovascular disease: sedentary behavior, exercise and nutrition; Diabetes-a metabolic disorder, Endocrine and metabolic characteristics in polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS); Cancer: Is it preventable? And Thyroid dysfunction: symptoms, assessment and management. The event was well appreciated by one and all.
